YOUR LEASE, IN FOCUS
Copy the price, term, rate, repayment and fees from your quote. Leave out names, addresses and account details.
Paste text from your quote. Your text stays in this browser tab.
Your numbers change only when you apply the fields you’ve checked.
We match labels and units in your text. Check each number against your quote before applying it.
See the total of your quoted payments, residual and upfront charges. Confirm what each amount includes. You don’t need to enter your salary.
Use the amount charged before any tax savings, rather than the change in your take-home pay. Add upfront charges only if they are separate from the payments.
The total includes only the amounts you enter. Check for separate running costs, fees and later budget adjustments. Confirm your end-of-lease options with your provider.
Review your quote and complete the fields to see a comparison.

per fortnight, including the running budget
Total payments over the term, including running costs. Future amounts are not adjusted for inflation.
Lease includes the modelled residual. Finance assumes no balloon. No resale value or investment return is included.
An educational estimate, not a personal recommendation. GST credits, actual payroll treatment, HELP and other income-tested effects can materially change the outcome. See all assumptions.
The useful question isn’t just “What do I save?” It’s “What am I assuming?”
A LITTLE CLARITY GOES A LONG WAY

GOOD TO KNOW
A few details that can make a big difference to a lease.
How the calculations workAn arrangement between you, your employer and a finance provider to fund a vehicle through salary packaging. What comes out of pre-tax and post-tax pay depends on the vehicle, the arrangement and your circumstances.
The residual is the amount left at the end of the lease. The quote payment schedule uses the residual you enter. The comparison uses the ATO minimum residual guide, which is not a guaranteed market value or buyout price. Confirm the actual end-of-lease options and any GST with your provider.
Quotes may include different GST bases, fees, insurance, running budgets and payroll treatment. The comparison uses a fixed set of assumptions so you can see which inputs need checking. A mismatch is a prompt to ask a question, not proof that the quote is wrong.
No. Vehicle type is only one condition. First use, LCT history, the employment relationship and timing matter. Plug-in hybrids need a separate grandfathering review. Even an exempt car can create a reportable fringe benefits amount.

THE ASSUMPTIONS, IN THE OPEN
Constant salary, rates and running costs. Monthly payments on an amortising lease with a residual. Estimated resident income tax before and after packaging, plus an individual Medicare levy estimate and ordinary resident low-income tax offset (LITO).
For a non-exempt car, the comparison estimates an annual post-tax contribution rather than using your actual payroll deductions. It repeats that annual illustration over the selected term. Drive-away price is used as a simplified financed amount and FBT base; those amounts may differ in an actual quote. The scenario does not use the quoted repayment or residual.
Provider-specific GST credits, actual FBT and payroll, extra finance fees, other offsets, HELP, Medicare levy surcharge, Division 293, family assistance and child support are excluded. Resale value, opportunity cost and future policy are also excluded.
These calculations are estimates, not personal financial or tax advice, and have not been independently validated by an Australian tax professional. Confirm the complete quote and your circumstances before making a decision.
Policy does not stand still. The enacted first income-tax bracket falls from 15% to 14% in July 2027. Proposed electric-car FBT changes are under Treasury consultation as at 21 September 2026; they are not treated here as enacted law. This fixed-policy illustration does not apply those future transitions. Check timing and current eligibility before relying on a multi-year estimate. Read the draft consultation ↗
Use this worksheet to estimate one FBT year using the statutory formula. It does not change the lease comparison above or calculate employer GST on contributions. Download a separate worksheet after calculating.
RFBA shown assumes this is your only reportable car benefit and no exclusions apply. It can affect HELP, MLS, Division 293, benefits and child support. Availability dates include weekends and any days available for private use; confirm unusual availability with your provider.
